Another day, another what? Word.
Have you ever walked into an exam room feeling completely unprepared? You know that sinking feeling when you flip open an exam paper and realize you don’t know a thing about it? In that moment, you tell yourself, “It is what it is,” just to get through it. But deep down, you can’t shake the thought: If only I had studied, I could’ve done so much better. Now, imagine facing life that way—unprepared, unequipped, and unaware of the tools God has already provided. When we aren’t grounded in His Word, that’s exactly what happens: we face life’s challenges without the knowledge and understanding needed to navigate them. The stakes? They’re far higher than any missed exam.
Looking back at seasons when I felt weak or defeated by life’s never-ending curveballs, I see that the root of my struggle often wasn’t the circumstances themselves, but my lack of being rooted in God’s Word. I was facing challenges, but without knowing God’s promises and the power of His Word to anchor me, I was unequipped to handle them.
This is where the power of knowledge comes in. When you came to know Christ, you were delivered from the bondage of sin. But deliverance doesn’t stop there. When you know who God says you are, you’re free from the lies of the enemy and the false identities the world tries to place on you. When you understand the promises of God, you’re no longer bound by fear, doubt, or confusion. That’s the power of knowledge—knowing the truth and being set free. This is why I want to tell you today: knowledge is more than just power—it’s deliverance.
Whenever you open the Bible, you’re not simply gaining information—you’re stepping into freedom. “Knowledge is power” is more than just a phrase; it’s a truth that breaks chains when rooted in the Word of God. When you truly grasp the Word of God, you move from darkness into the light, discovering your true identity and purpose in Him.
With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.
Proverbs 11:9 [ESV]
The world tells us, “What you don’t know won’t hurt you,” but let’s be real—that’s one of the enemy’s oldest lies. It might sound “true” for earthly matters, but when it comes to the things of God, ignorance isn’t just harmless—it’s dangerous. The enemy knows that if he can keep you ignorant of God’s Word, he can keep you bound in discouragement, confusion, and spiritual defeat.
Ignorance is the Devil’s Playground
A Christian who refuses to learn or receive knowledge has accepted to live in the bondage of ignorance. Harsh? Maybe. True? Absolutely. Hosea 4:6 warns us, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” The enemy thrives in our ignorance because it leaves us defenceless, powerless, and disconnected from the truth.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
Hosea 4:6 [ESV]
Whenever you read the Word of God and experience an “aha” moment—whether it speaks directly to your season or situation, know this: chains are being lifted. That revelation could be the very antidote to a problem you’ve been wrestling with. It’s a lightbulb moment, a divine let there be light over your life.
The beauty of God’s Word is that it’s alive and active (Hebrews 4:12). You can read the same scripture multiple times, and yet, each time, it has the potential to speak to you differently. Verses that seemed ordinary in one season can suddenly feel like a personal letter from God in another. Why? Because the rhema—the specific, revealed Word of God—is often tied to where you are or what you need for your next step.
But here’s the question: What do you do after those “aha” moments? Revelation is powerful, but wisdom—applying that revelation—is what transforms lives. James 1:22 says to be doers of the Word, not just hearers. Press in. Don’t just settle for the enlightenment of the moment; ask God for the wisdom to apply it, to steward it, and to walk in it. Revelation isn’t the finish line; it’s the starting point for growth, obedience, and victory. That Word is tied to where you are now and could very well be the key to your next step—so lean in and live it out.
Ignorance vs. Negligence
In a world where information is more accessible than ever, ignorance is no longer an excuse, it’s a choice. Yes, God can forgive genuine ignorance, but let’s not confuse ignorance with negligence. “I didn’t know any better” might work once or twice, but eventually, you’ll have to ask yourself: What do I know?
As believers, we have to be intentional about seeking knowledge. The same way you study for an exam so you’re prepared to ace it is the same way you should dive into the Word of God. Life will bring challenges, but if you’ve been in the Word, you can stand firm. Don’t be that person who walks into life’s tests with an “it is what it is” mindset. That might work in the world, but it doesn’t cut it in spiritual matters—trust me. The enemy doesn’t want you to know God’s will for your life or walk in the truth and authority He’s given you. But God has provided you with His Word—your light, weapon, and source of life. You have authority—it’s time to walk in it.
What’s the Takeaway?
Ignorance is bondage, but knowledge is deliverance. Don’t just read the Word for information; seek revelation. When God reveals Himself to you, don’t stop there—apply it. Let it transform your heart, guide your steps, and shape your life. The enemy will always try to counter the truth, but remember: the light has come, and the darkness cannot overcome it.
Press in. Be intentional. Walk in the freedom and authority that knowledge brings. Because the more you know, the harder it is for the enemy to keep you bound.
Until next time for another day, another word!
Blessings,
Eunice
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:31-32 [ESV]
Eunice! you bodied this word!->knowledge is more than just power—it’s deliverance.
Asking for the wisdom to apply it! 📌📌📌
It truly is one thing to know and have that revelation but an entirely different thing to have the wisdom to apply it. Lord help us 😭😭
